There is no such a thing as a breast cancer cure because there is no miraculous pill you can take and know for sure that you are absolutely cancer free. There are still different kinds of treatments that can help you remove the cancer cells from your body, but they are not always working. So you can try, but nothing is certain. It's not like you take an aspirin and drink some hot tea and the flu is gone. But people still hope and pray for a breast cancer cure because it's not fair to see so many people die because of this disease, helpless in their fight against breast cancer. I am talking about the patients whose cancer was diagnosed later, in the metastatic stage, when the cancer cells already spread to different parts of the body, so it was a lot harder to remove.
However, specialists - oncologists and surgeons and researchers all over the world have been trying to find a cure for this disease for a long time now. There are a lot of breast cancer foundations that gather money every year and organize all kinds of events just for gathering enough funds for keeping the research going on. The cure has not been found yet, but there have been tremendous discoveries in this field and now the patient has a wider variety of very efficient drugs to choose from and also more options when it comes to treatment.

Now doctors discovered that there are more different types of cancer that can be treated differently for obtaining better results. For example there are the tumours that have estrogen, testosteron and HER2 receptors located at the surface and they allow cancer cells to grow when getting the hormones they need. But knowing that let doctors apply the hormone treatment which actually consists of administrating drugs that block the production of these hormones or block their way into the tumour and this way the cancer cells can't multiply. It's a huge step forward.

The new drugs, too, were tested for years before being allowed to be used on humans and they had very good results at the clinical trials, bringing better survival rates and a faster way to shrink and even eliminate tumours. The researchers even isolated the gene in our DNA that is responsible for the modifications that lead to breast cancer and I read about some cases of women who decided to cut off their breasts in order to avoid ever getting breast cancer.
But the best way of dealing with breast cancer and getting cured after having this disease is the very ealy detection. This is possible nowadays because there are very developed screening machines that can see any abnormal tissue in your breast and this happened in time, due to the continuous imrpovement of all the instruments of fight againsts breast cancer. Then there are all these awareness campaigns that are organized by the breast cancer foundations that spread the information around the world and an informed woman is a safe woman because, even if she gets sick, she will know what to do and, the most important thing, she will know that it's necessary to have regular check-ups.
Last, but not least, it's the very changed governmental policies and the health care policies. Now there are rules about getting free mammograms every year and even your general practitioner sends you to have regular check-up with the purpose to discover an eventual breast cancer in the incipient stage. This being said I am very confident that, looking at the pace things improve every day we will soon get a breast cancer cure.
